Future of Museums Panel: Part II

Join us on March 4 from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm at Zeitgeist Gallery for an insightful conversation on the future of museums. As we continue into 2023, the museum experience in Nashville and beyond becomes more interactive and self-directed. With that in mind, we are excited to have open conversations with museum leaders, artists, and gallery professionals who look to the future and see shifts to a greater level of visitor control and new methods of audience engagement.

The panel discussion will focus on the idea that institutions do not exist in a vacuum. Their practices and habits, and their structures are all linked to other institutions they interact with and external factors within their radius, such as the art market, educational systems, governments, and funding bodies. These influences can be read within the body language of a specific institution. Therefore, to make lasting change for an institution means to work and invest resources within these external factors, not just changing an interior institutional behavior.
